Instead of using stock patterns, we built a full illustration from scratch – hand-painted vines, flowers and moss that frame the box like an old landscape painting. Inside, a custom plaid lines the drawer, echoing flannel shirts and cabin blankets and turning the box into part of the home, not just outer packaging.
Each colourway (Charcoal, Baker Blue, Fog Grey) borrows from real mountain palettes: night sky, winter lakes, dusty trails.
The final Cuush packaging looks more like a decorative object than a typical wellness box – something you’d happily keep on your nightstand long after unboxing. By aligning the artwork with the product story (warmth, weight, Colorado landscapes), the design makes the benefits feel tangible before the pad is ever heated up. Cuush quietly invites you into its world – and that quiet, cinematic pull is exactly what makes it stand out.
For wellness and comfort brands, this project shows how bespoke illustration and a strong aesthetic point of view can turn a functional therapy product into a giftable, emotionally charged experience.
Next projects.
